Yoda first appears in The Empire Strikes Back in 1980, performed as a puppet by Frank Oz. Luke Skywalker trains with Yoda on the swamp planet Dagobah. Yoda speaks with the object before the subject, and he dies at 900 years old in Return of the Jedi. Frank Oz also performs Miss Piggy. He returns in the prequels, as a puppet in 1999 and in CGI from 2002.
