About this Homer Simpson board

Matt Groening named Homer Simpson after his own father, Homer Groening. The family first appeared on 19 April 1987 in the short Good Night on The Tracey Ullman Show. The Simpsons got their own series on Fox on 17 December 1989. Groening came up with the family while waiting in the lobby of producer James L. Brooks. Dan Castellaneta voices Homer.

Created with 14 shapes, 9 lines and 1 frame placed by hand. Homer is drawn with wide eyes and a smile, with lines doing most of the work.
