Alec Guinness played Obi-Wan Kenobi in the original Star Wars film in 1977. Obi-Wan trains Luke Skywalker and duels Vader on the Death Star. Guinness earned an Oscar nomination for it. Ewan McGregor played him as a younger man in the prequels and in the 2022 series. In the first film he is the old hermit on Tatooine who gives Luke his father’s lightsaber.
