About this Starry Night board

Van Gogh painted The Starry Night in June 1889 at the Saint-Paul-de-Mausole asylum in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. The view is from his east-facing window before sunrise, with the village added from imagination. The Museum of Modern Art in New York has owned it since 1941. On 18 June 1889 Van Gogh wrote to his brother Theo about working on a new study of a starry sky.

Created with 3,611 shapes placed by hand. The swirling sky is the test for a square grid: zoom in to see single squares draw each curve.

How to use it

Copy it, zoom in and see how it is made. Or keep it on your board as a conversation piece before a session starts.
